Hot Rod Girls Alternative Ending
Completed the editing on an alternative ending for Hot Rod Girls Save The World. This ending will run after the credits on the second edition of Hot Rod Girls Save The World I will release this fall. Slightly different movie than the first edition that came out on DVD last December. Also been going through a bit of anxiety the last week and a half. Alot is going on with my wife's small business and building landlord, etc. Gotta keep calm. Not so easy with an economy thats ripping apart at the seems.

Hot Rod Monster Film Festival Selection
Made all the selections for our Hot Rod Monsters Film Festival this weekend. So I'm sitting outside Saturday and Sunday on a big blanket with my wife, enjoying our rental house and the Seattle weather (for once). Scribbling on papers and crumbling up other papers, banging on my calculator to get the films and shorts and music videos to fit as closely as possible in 2 hour slots. We have three slots per night. Great films and series including Hot Rod Havoc, Choppertown: The Sinners, Vintage Torque, Hot Rod Girls Save The World, Dreams Of Legends, Crash Fans, retarDEAD, Mondo Scooterama, etc, etc. It's going to be gearhead good time.

Hot Rod Girls Save The World PG13 version?
Just finished a PG13 version of Hot Rod Girls Save The World.Takes about 21 hours to export the files and burn onto a master DVD-R. The first disc ended up having some minor problems so I did it again. Thank God I have two computers so I can switch over to my second system to keep working during the export/burn process. The only real difference between the regular version of HRGSTW and this PG013 Version is removal of a few F' words (most are left in) and one brief nude scene of Betty Petty. The PG-13 Version is also seven minutes shorter than the First Edition Version (current DVD run time 121 minutes) following the new edits I did for the Second Edition (run time- 114 minutes). I made a PG-13 Version to play outdoors at car show events. Don't want the kiddies to scream and cry. Does that make sense? I also hot some more films in for the Hot Rod Monsters Film Festival. i am screening them this week and weekend so the tickets can go on sale on Monday. Should be a great program. Lots of Hot Rod documentaries.

Rat Rod Rockers Begins Filming
An incredible day filming scenes and the trailer for my new film Rat Rod Rockers! Everybody worked hard and we finished two complete scenes and random bits for the trailer, which should be up on YouTube in the next week. I am really getting excited to get this bad boy finished...hopefully edited and ready to screen by Feb. 2010. Also watched fairly cool documentary called Tales Of The Rat Fink. A few too many Street Rods for my tastes, but excellent historical info on Hot Rodding and Pop Culture. Is Hot Rodding an art form? Sometimes yes.

Shoegazer Phase?
Going through a mini-shoegazer music phase. Last month it was Funk (adding to my mp3 collection with new versions of Hollywood Swinging, Super Fly etc.) So I downloaded several My Bloody Valentine and Gliss albums. Also a bit of New York Art Rock with The Warlocks. I love music.

Rain Rain Rain
Man is it comin' down outside! However- I do love the rain. Washes away all the dirt and crap. This was a decent storm. Many ties in Seattle we get overcast and drizzle, just enough to wreck the BBQ. Summers in Seattle can be perfection. Three months of 75-80 degree weather without a cloud in the sky. When I first moved up here in 1989, I worked at a Tower Records (remember those). It was cold and wet and dank. I asked one of my coworkers was it like this in the summer. He said, "Just wait and see. Its a Northwest secret. The best summers in all the continental U.S. are in Seattle." I didn't believe him as I watched the rain drops slowly slide down the buildings huge windows. Several months later his statements rang true. It was that summer that I forgot all about moving back to Los Angeles or migrating to New York and decided to stay in the Northwest.

1964 and Alternative Endings
Wrote a new little surf punk instrumental (may add lyrics later) called "1964." The year the Beatles invaded the U.S.A., the introduction of the second generation HEMI by Chrysler, the introductions of the Barracuda, Mustang and GTO and the year I was born. I also completed the editing for the Alternative Ending for Hot Rod Girls Save The World. Still have to finish the audio, but should have it ready to export into the master file folder in a few days.
