Catastrophic Hard Drive Failure #2

So this is the second 2TB external drive I've had go out in the last year. Both were working drives for my new film Rats & Gassers: Kustom Kulture Takes A Ride. After the last big crash, I saved the bulk of my files to BluRay BD-Rs using Toast. So now the reconstruction begins. I have decided to buy cheaper USB 3.0 drives to store the files on, then shelve afterwards. The Firewire 800 drives are more expensive and having them connected all the time reduces drive life. I will keep one Firewire drive connected as a working space and then use the USB drives to archive/backup my work.

Home Studio

Got the new A/V Home Studio setup. I made the "L" desk (lower pic) from two old doors. I am diggin' the new space. Still needs a carpet (or throw rug) and a small heater for the colder months to come. Now what to call the new studio? I always give names to each studio location I work in.

Sound Library Consolidation Project

As part of my ongoing Sound Library Consolidation Project- I have started recording real time audio transfers from my DAT libraries. Incredible percussion sessions, guitar sessions, studio loops and  strange instruments. I used to back all my recorded work to DAT Tapes (the standard back in the early-mid 1990s). Man what  a treasure trove! Sometimes I forget how prolific I am (was). Must be ten albums worth of material here!

Rainy Seattle Morning

This shot was taken this morning just outside my recording/film studio. Good to see the rain, especially for a seasonally allergic guy like myself. Worked on Go-Kustom taxes for 2008 (yes that far behind people) most of yesterday. Sorting through piles of receipts and bank statements. Should have my worksheet ready for the accountant tonight. HAd some good news from our attorney a few days ago. Looks like we can reach an agreement with our old commercial landlord.
