Cougar Moutain Regional Wildland Park

Yesterday we took the family on a seven mile hike at the Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park, just 40 minutes drive from our house in North Seattle. We hiked for over three hours, but the only critter we saw was a feisty, tail twitching squirrel. Still nice to get out and get some outdoor time. The trails go for miles around the park and are gorgeous with trees, plant life, mushrooms and moss.

I've never walked the trails there, but the view looking north over Lake Sammamish is incredible. Cruising up there is one of my favorite drives.
