1:64th Scale Bullitt

Just got this cool little diorama featuring a reenactment of the famous Bullitt car chase scene made by Greenlight in 1:64th scale. One of the greatest car chase scenes of all time with two of the greatest American Muscle Cars of all time- a 1968 Dodge Charger and a 1967 Ford Mustang, Sitting on my computer monitor right now.

Rat Rod Rockers! DVD

Made a 16:9 Widescreen version of the Evil Undead Girlfiend Teaser Trailer as well as my older movie trailers for the Rat Rod Rockers! DVD. I ended up using Compressor to crop and export the files from the original .mov files. Then I added them to the Rat Rod Rockers! DVD with an autostart and First Play Action directed at the trailers on their own track. This will start the trailers before the DVD Main Menu pops up. I know that can be annoying if a DVD has multiple trailers and previews on it, but I added a chapter marker so you can skip one of the two trailers then fast forward the second to quickly get to the Main Menu. These are all things to consider when authoring commercial DVDs. Later I began consolidating Rat Rod Rockers! audio tracks in submix groups. This makes mixing much easier.

Also authored some Evil Undead Girlfiend Promo Trailer DVDs, wrote a song for the Ivan Calls Danika scene in Rat Rod Rockers!, finished an article I was writing about Pin-Up Nikki Dodge and spray painted (in primer) the seats, dash and steering wheel of my 1/25th scale 1956 Dodge Gasser Hearse "Meat Wagon."

Evil Undead Girlfiend & Rat Rod Rockers!

Big day yesterday. Completed the Evil Undead Girlfiend Teaser Trailer and got the link for tickets to the big Rat Rod Rockers! Seattle Premiere & DVD Release Party set. Also found out a national magazine is covering our Rat Rod Rockers! Seattle Premiere. I was contacted by the writer/photographer. Now if we can get the local TV and Newspapers interested, this could be a serious springboard for this film. It really deserves the attention. So now I need to drop the trailers onto the Rat Rod Rockers! DVD and touch up the audio and then send the masters off to the DVD pressing plant. I also need to revamp the Evil Undead Girlfiend website with the new Trailer and updated graphics. I need an intern!

Evil Undead Girlfiend Teaser Trailer

Did a few more composites from the Teaser Trailer filming we did a few days ago for Evil Undead Girlfiend.

Munster Style Articles from Steve Puvogel

Got some great new articles in from Writer & Photographer Steve Puvogel. Here are a few teaser sample pages from an article he is doing about Tom and Carla McDonald and their bad ass rides! If you like Fords (or gassers or straight axles or drag racing) you gotta read the full article when it comes out in Issue One of Munster Style.

Composite Stills From Evil Undead Girlfiend

Created the first few composite stills from yesterdays video filming of Smookie Tiger and Becky Lee for my new film Evil Undead Girlfiend: the Re-Animation Of Issa Kross. The backgrounds are from my cemetery photo shoot a few days ago. The composites were done in Final Cut Pro using DV Matte Pro, then adjusted in Photoshop. The edges are a little off, but acceptable. Now I just need the $20 million to make this film. :)

Munster Style - New Jessica Rose Photos

These just came in from Jessica Rose for Issue One of Munster Style.

Says Jessica "this shoot was inspired by the title of your publication and we found people we knew or had worked with before to make up like the cast, it was shot on Sunday with the hearse and was a very fun shoot with a fun group of people!"

Evil Undead Girlfiend Teaser Trailer

Becky Lee and Smookie Tiger came over yesterday to do a quick video shoot for a teaser trailer I am putting together for Evil Undead Girlfiend. We shot against green screen so I can replace backgrounds with pics I shot at the cemetery (see below post). This teaser is only going to be 20-30 seconds long and I need to complete it this week so I can drop it into the beginning of the new Rat Rod Rockers ! DVD that comes out this March. Both Becky and Smookie did excellent jobs of yelling, talking and basically creating the foundations for the films characters Issa Kross and Ingvar Chienne. We also just set a photo shoot with Zombie Crush for mid-February to get poster and print pics for the website and promotional materials complete. I had initially envisioned Issa as a brunette and Ingvar as a blonde, but am really happy with the switch. I think having a blonde in a badass lead role is unique. Both girls are gorgeous and amazingly talented.

Cemetery Photos

Took some pics yesterday at a nearby cemetery for various backgrounds. These will be used (not these exact pictures per se) for both a photo shoot and the teaser trailer for my upcoming film Evil Undead Girlfiend. I always liked cemeteries- ever since I worked at a flower shop next to one in San Bernardino and my first wife and I used to take lunch there daily. Very peaceful. Except when they were digging graves with the backhoe.

1956 Dodge Gasser Hearse

Did a little painting and cutting up a new frame for the "Meat Wagon I" 1/25th scale model I am building as a potentially real mock-up for Evil Undead Girlfiend. The interior was a rough cast, but doesn't really matter. I don't make these things to win Model Building Contests, just to get an idea of what the real car would look like and use for Photoshopped promotional pictures.

Rat Rod Rockers! Audio

Wrote a cool little Punk ditty for an action sequence in Rat Rod Rockers! yesterday. This scene in particular needed some action music and now it's got some. Filling all the little holes in the soundtrack. Working on this section made me wonder why I haven't put out a full on Punk Rock record yet. Once a Punk always a Punk.

1:18 Scale 1960 Chrysler 300F Convertible

Got a new car for the collection in the mail box yesterday. A 1:18th scale die-cast of a '60 Chrysler 300F. Decent build quality by Yat Ming, especially for the super low price. I am really starting to like the 1960 Chrysler and DeSoto's. I took some pics next to my fave Highway 61 1967 Dodge Coronet.

Evil Undead Girlfiend Meeting

Had a meeting last night with Becky Lee and Smookie Tiger to do some character development and teaser trailer layouts for one of my new films Evil Undead Girlfiend: The Re-Animation of Issa Kross last night. We are going to shot the first teaser trailer next Monday. Just bits and fragments to make an interesting 20-30 second clip that will run as a trailer on the new Rat Rod Rockers! DVD that comes out this March 2011. I am also doing some pre-production work on another film called Chopper Chicas with actress/producer Heidi Van Horne. More on that one later.

1960 Chrysler New Yorker Wagon & 300F Resin Kits

Modelhaus Resin 1960 Chrysler New Yorker
Just got the Modelhaus 1960 Chrysler New Yorker Wagon in the mail yesterday. Very clean kit for a resin. This car will be converted into a Hearse for a 1/25th scale mock-up of a car for one of my next films- Evil Undead Girlfiend: The Re-Animation Of Issa Kross. I am also building a 1956 Dodge Wagon Hearse (see earlier blog posts) to see which will look better in Gothic Gearhead Garb. The other 1960 Chrysler model in the bottom pic is from R&R Resin, who makes all kinds of rare and hard to find kits in resin.

Nikki Dodge Photoshoot for Munster Style by Jessica Rose

Just got these pics in from photographer Jessica Rose of model Nikki Dodge for Issue One of Munster Style, our Arts, Music and Kustom Kulture Periodikal. The article these (and other) pics will be featured in, is about Nikki and actress Teri Aslett and both of their work with dogs, specifically bully breeds. Besides modeling, Nikki does extensive rescue work with Bowman's Canine in Southern California. Currently both dogs in the photos ( Latte & Buddy) are available for adoption.

Steam Punk Weapons For Evil Undead Girlfiend

Purchased some cool props off the internet for the Evil Undead Girlfiend: The Re-Animation Of Issa Kross photo shoot and movie teaser trailer we are filming in the upcoming months. I have a meeting with the character models Beck Lee and Smookie Tiger tomorrow night at our studio. This is typical pre-production film work, Character Development, Costumes, pre-publicity, etc. Hopefully we will shoot this one late 2011 for a 2012 release. This is the third story in the Anywhere Archives Series of films I am making, the first being Hot Rod Girls Save The World and the most recent being Rat Rod Rockers! I find it is best to start basic work on one film as you are promoting the last, this gives you talking points during interviews about future projects and gets your ass in gear to make your next movie.

A Little Bit Of Evening Snow

After several days of the weather people saying it was gonna snow in Seattle- it finally did! We had a light dusting Monday morning, but it was gone within an hour. This 2-3 inch's worth of the white stuff is supposed to turn to rain and wash away by tomorrow morning. Love the way the snow enhances all the evening light and gives the world a slightly muffled sound.

A Slight Dusting Of Snow

A little snow this Monday Morn. Totally gone thirty minutes later.

Chrysler On The Mend

If you believe what the new issue of Motor Trend says- the comprehensive outlook for Chrysler LLC, with FIAT's Sergio Marchionne at the helm, is very good. While no one liked what Daimler did to America's number three automaker (who was very healthy before the German take over), everyone seems to love what FIAT is doing with the place. I have to agree that this new combination of FIAT and Chrysler seems to be a nice fit. Both company's have very little product overlap and compliment each other more than narcissistic newlyweds.
Chrysler has long been my favorite automaker. The scrappy underdog has been on deaths door more than once- but the company always seems to rebound stronger each time. One look at the new 2011 Charger and you wonder why such a cash strapped company would dare design such over-the-top and edgy (styling wise) cars. We will just have to wait and see what the new year brings to a revamped Chrysler and the auto industry as a whole.

1956 Dodge Gasser Hearse "Meat Wagon"

Shot the first coat of primer and flat black on the "Meat Wagon" Gasser Hearse model I am building. These resin kits are rough and not as detailed as more modern model kits, but they are sturdy. Will use another donor model kit (probably a 1955 Chevy Gasser from Revell) for the under carriage and components. This may be the daily driver of Ingvar from my new Evil Undead Girlfiend story and movie.

Movie Props For Armageddon

Got this cool gas mask (minus filter canister) off Etsy.com as a prop for one of my new films. You can never have enough gas masks (or hand guns) in your prop department. Especially if your making Armageddon films.

Rat Rod Rockers! Seattle Premiere & DVD Release Party Flyers

Dodge Eliminator

Did some primer work on my 1967 Dodge Eliminator Concept. The idea was to make a AMX/Mustang style shorty Charger by cutting up a first generation Charger and reshaping it. The body is still very rough with uneven panels and seams galore. I did use a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner tail light assembly for the Eliminator. These pics were taken from my crap cell phone camera.

Rat Rod Rockers! 16:9 Version

So I thought I was finished re-cropping Rat Rod Rockers! into a 16:9 Widescreen format. After I exported the adjusted clips into one file and then threw the Widescreen Matte on the file, I noticed slight (one pixel) movements on the Widescreen borders. I tried this several times with several clips that should not have had done that at all. So I figure it's some kind of anomaly in the filter. I think the work around will be to export the file again and then use the "crop" adjustment to manually crop the file. This cannot (or at least should not) move once it is set. We shall see.

Pistol Grip Shifter

Just got a Hurst Pistol Grip Shifter for my 1966 Dodge Charger that Chris Darland is building in his shop down Medford, Oregon way. Bought it from Summit Racing and only took two days to be delivered. These pics are from my crap cell phone camera.

1956 Dodge Gasser Hearse

Publish Post
The beginnings of a 1/25th scale '56 Dodge Gasser Hearse I am building. The body is resin, from a short run company.
