Excellent Shoot WIth Hauser Riley

Hauser Riley before we began shooting
Had an amazing shoot with the gorgeous Hauser Riley and a very bad ass dirt track inspired roadster. Of course I can't post pics because it was for a magazine shoot. Top secret and all that. I can say that Hauser killed it, with legs that went on for days and a smile that lit up the room. We shot over 1,000 pics in just a few hours and Jan, Doug & Dean and all their family were super accommodating with their car and shop. One of the best sets I've ever shot in record time!

I also grabbed some video footage so some of Hauser will make it into Rats & Gassers & Go-Kustom TV.

"Big Rooms"

This was a shot I took of Pandora Sparrow before our recording sessions. "Big Rooms" because this room was actually quite small- but had very high ceilings.

Pandora Sparrow Vocal Tracks

Did some vocal tracking with the amazing Pandora Sparrow. I've known her for years and we had talked about her doing some vocal work for some time and now that I got her behind a mic, I can confirm that this gal can really wail! We did some vocal tests and then she completed the chorus to a new Garage Punk song I wrote called Go! (working title). More to come.

Mini Back Projection Screen

Made a mini back projection screen for re-filming sections of my documentary (for added effect when working with SD footage, re-filmed in HD). I also wanted to experiment with the back projection adhesive film for future stage projects. This stuff is expensive but cool.

Squire Bass VI & Boss GT-100

Took delivery of my new bass and multi-fx. The action was a bit high on the Squire Bass VI, but I adjusted it quickly so it plays better already. The Boss GT-100 is a sound beast with many possibilities. It will take months to get the sounds I want set and fine tuned.

Ahh Instant Credit

So I was drooling over the new-ish Boss GT-100 on the  Sweetwater.com website, when I noticed an "Apply For Your Sweetwater Credit Card Now" button on the right side of the screen. "What the hell..." thought I- so I clicked it. After a few personal questions and five minutes of typing, they gave me a solid $1,2000 in credit! Jackpot! Soooooo- I bought that thar GT-100 and a Squire Vintage Modified Bass VI to boot. Total cost $850. I wanted the Squire as a backup for my Schecter Hellcat VI. The Bass VI also has some interesting pickup selectors and a whammy, which may yield some new timbres.

Bass Meditation

Fuckin' rough few weeks with doing old, past due tax returns, my marriage break-up and long days at work. Just had to plug in the the Hellcat VI and play for a few hours. Like meditation but noisier.

A Woman's Place

Did some filming and a quick edit for a video promo spot for Heather Nixon's show "A Woman's Place" last weekend. The footage came out great and Heather was very easy to direct. This show is nested in the Libertarian slanted "Johnny Rocket Launchpad Radio Show" which airs weekly.

Table Top Camera Dolly

So got a new table top dolly to do some intricate shots for Rats & Gassers today. I am going to use it to re-shoot footage from a flatscreen monitor with added motion. Hard to explain, but it should be worth the investment

Go-Kustom TV Rebel Riot Episode

Been busy all weekend editing the Rebel Riot Episode of Go-Kustom TV. Starting to make some serious headway. That's how it works- you chip away and chip away and then, all of the sudden, it starts getting much easier to finish the episode. Slow start, fast finish. At least thats usually the way it works for me. After I get this and one or two more Episodes (along with the first two that are already completed) edited I will release them all as a DVD on Amazon. Hopefully in the next few months. Some of this footage is also going to be re-edited into Rats & Gassers.

Road Back To Life Car Show

Went over to a new car show in Everett, WA put on by the Road Back To Life folks (who help Kidney Disease Patients). It was held at the Mariners High School, with lots of vendors and some very cool cars. It is going on tomorrow as well.

West Coast Road Trip

Greyhound Buss Terminal Los Angeles
So went to Southern California via Greyhound Bus (32 hour trip) to help move my Momma up from there to Seattle. Took 6 days total. 2 days on the bus, 2 days helping pack and clean her old house and 2 days driving back up in her mini-van (with dogs and her talkative bird). I am tire, but mission accomplished! Good to have Momma back up here! Was completely off the internet for those 6 days as well, which was interesting as well.

RIP Camille Sperry

Camille Sperry passed away this morning with her soul mate Rob Butler (and amazing photographer) by her bedside. She had been battling multiple forms of cancer for 6 years. I met Camille the night we filmed the party scene for Hot Rod Girls Save The World. She was super sweet and patient during that crazy night of filming. Much love and many prayers to Rob who has been relentlessly by her side during her long and difficult struggle.

Family

A lot has been going on in my home life. Don't really feel like airing out my dirty laundry- but the whole thing has slowed down my creative process and left me in a funk. Time heals all wounds...or so they say.

Baltimore Is Burning

After Freddy Grey's Funeral, Baltimore erupted in Protests, Riots and Flames. Did the Baltimore PD's indifference kill Grey?

"But cellphone videos show that in both incidents (Freddy Grey and Eric Garner) the arresting officer evidenced a disturbing deafness to the prisoner’s cries of distress.

Garner was able to verbalize a plea that was later chanted by protesters.

“I can’t breathe! I can’t breathe!”
Gray could only manage loud cries of pain as he was hoisted to his feet and dragged in handcuffs to a waiting police wagon." - via The Daily Beast
